OFFICE OVERHEAD EXPENSE PLAN

Office Overhead Expense Plan Features

If you become disabled, will your practice survive?

The Office Overhead Expense Plan was designed to address the unique business needs of dentists. If you should become disabled and unable to practice dentistry, this Plan can pay for eligible expenses to help you save the practice you've worked so hard to build. Some of the Plan's features include:

  • Up to $25,000 per month in coverage: Larger practices can enjoy a single solution for their coverage needs while smaller practices have plenty of room to grow.
  • "Own occupation coverage:" This plan includes an own occupation definition of disability that can pay benefits all the way to age 65. If you become totally disabled from your special area of dentistry, you'll get full benefits, even if you choose to work in another area of dentistry, or even if you choose to enter a new profession.
  • Partial disability protection: Residual benefits can supplement your income when you begin to transition back to dentistry on a limited basis.
  • Locum tenens coverage: If you need to hire a replacement dentist, you're automatically covered for up to six months of additional costs over and above whatever regular monthly benefits you may receive.
  • Long-term renewability: Your coverage is renewable all the way to age 70 without any further medical evaluation as long as you continue to work at least 20 hours a week and remain an ADA member.
  • Future increase option: You can automatically increase your monthly coverage amount by $500 once each year until age 55 without any additional underwriting.
  • Survivor benefit: If you should die, your beneficiary can receive reimbursement for 50% of your benefit for up to three months of office expenses to help transition your business more smoothly at a difficult time.
  • Waiver of premium: When you are disabled, your premiums for this insurance will be waived once you satisfy the 30-day waiting period.
  • Voluntary rehabilitation program: A voluntary fully-paid rehabilitation program including both physical and occupational therapy is available to help you get back to work as soon as possible.
  • Inflation Fighter: You get the best of both worlds - increased inflationary coverage and no medical exam! This new automatic feature allows for your coverage amount to keep pace with the inflationary costs of maintaining your practice without an application or medical re-qualification. This feature offers automatic coverage increases that may vary each year (up to 5%) depending on the current CPI-W index.
