Here's the latest news about the ADA Insurance Plans. You'll find a combination of site and product enhancements listed here for your convenience.
You can now charge any insurance premium to your MasterCard or Visa credit card, and start or renew your coverage right away! To make a one-time payment, call 800-568-2001 during business hours, Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 5:00 pm Mountain Time. Whether you wish to get extra miles or points, defer payment for a while, or take advantage of the financial reporting/budgeting services provided through your credit card account, this new premium payment option gives you greater flexibility. There is no additional cost to you to pay your premium by credit card.
Offering you choices for premium payment, both in terms of renewal frequency and payment method, is another way we provide you with exceptional customer service. Learn more about your various payment options in our Service area, or by contacting us at 800-568-2001 or ada@gwl.com.
The ADA Office Overhead Expense Plan now includes two enhancements that boost your financial protection. The first is a higher salary replacement benefit, which helps you pay a replacement dentist during a period of disability. The Plan now pays up to 50% of your coverage amount in addition to reimbursing your monthly covered expenses; previously the amount of additional salary replacement benefit was capped at 25% of your monthly limit.
In addition, the Plan now offers a survivor benefit that can pay up to three months of benefits — for both covered expenses and salary replacement — to help your beneficiary transition your business more smoothly after your death. Previously, this benefit would only be paid if you were disabled and collecting benefits at the time of death. Now, this benefit is available automatically to all participants, even those who have never been disabled. Read more about the Plan's recent enhancements and its comprehensive provisions.
Looking for information or education? Request a complimentary planning kit, tutorial, reference guide, or publication from our extensive Resource Library, and get even more than insurance protection from the ADA Insurance Plans. Indicate your selection(s) on our online request form so we can mail you the materials you'd like. You can even request a private, no-obligation consultation with a Plan Specialist to discuss your coverage needs and/or review your insurance portfolio.
A number of interactive tools and resources can also help you better understand and use your ADA-sponsored insurance coverage. You'll find online calculators to help you quantify your need for specific types of insurance, forms to change your coverage or file a claim, FAQs from ADA members, a glossary of common insurance terms, applications for insurance, and more. You can access these member resources at no cost and at your complete convenience.
The Income Protection Plan has liberalized both its disability coverage provisions and benefits administration, and reduced premiums at the same time. Not only does all this result in an even greater value for ADA members, but this kind of "double whammy" is extremely rare in the disability insurance marketplace. Excellent Plan experience in recent years, coupled with the ADA's commitment to addressing members' needs with quality insurance protection at a reasonable price, has led to these significant improvements. Read more about the Plan's recent enhancements and its comprehensive provisions.
The MedCASH Plan now provides benefits (all at 50% of your Daily Benefit amount) for home health care, nursing home confinement, skilled nursing care, and cancer treatment (either inpatient or outpatient). Read more about the Plan's recent enhancements and its comprehensive provisions.
Coverage for domestic partners is now available under the ADA Term Life and MedCASH Plans. As long as you are a participant or applicant in the respective Plan, you can apply for domestic partner coverage under that Plan for your partner and/or your partner's dependent children. The same policy provisions that apply to Spouse coverage, including eligibility, coverage amounts, options, and premiums, apply to coverage for domestic partners too.
Domestic partner coverage can be requested on the same application you use to request new or additional Member coverage. If you apply for domestic partner coverage, you must also submit an Affidavit of Domestic Partnership signed by both you and your partner. Submitting the affidavit along with your application will help expedite the application process. Contact us at 866-607-5338 or ada@gwl.com with questions about domestic partner coverage.
Enrollment in the ADA Student Disability Plan is now available any time of the year (instead of being limited to the months of September and October). All ASDA members under age 40 who are full-time students at an accredited dental school are guaranteed coverage under the Plan as long as they enroll before May 1 of their graduation year. (Students 40 or older can still get coverage, subject to proof of insurability.) In addition, disabled students may now qualify for a new student loan repayment benefit. Premiums are affordably low, and coverage is convertible after graduation to the ADA Income Protection Plan for practicing dentists. Contact us at 866-607-5338 for more information, or download an application to enroll right now.
Dental students have long been eligible to sign up for $50,000 of free ADA Term Life insurance at any time of the year. This coverage is provided at no cost to ASDA members as a benefit of membership; click here for program details and other important information.
If you thought you had to die or become disabled to actually benefit from your ADA insurance coverage, think again! There are many other ways to put your insurance to practical use, such as loan collateral, a savings alternative, estate planning, and more. Leveraging your current insurance policies can further many of your financial goals, plus you can obtain an even greater value for your money.
